Mansel thanked Stücker and pointed out that there were more stops of the Wiehl Valley Railway on the territory of Wiehl than stops of the DB on the territory of Gummersbach. This is unique in the upper Berg region. Then he asked Dr. Norbert Reinkober from Go.Rheinland (formerly "Nahverkehr Rheinland" NVR) to take the microphone.
In his speech, he referred to the last "feasibility study", which had produced a "less than optimal result" according to the old evaluation basis. He expressed the hope that a positive result could now be achieved with the new evaluation basis. However, the reactivation of the Wiehltalbahn should not hinder the planned extension of the RB 25 to the S 15, because this project has absolute priority for the upper Berg region. The new feasibility study is now on its way and the results will probably be available at the end of the year. Now we have to continue to fight FOR the Wiehltalbahn - also across the parliamentary groups. He was hopeful that this would be successful.
